HS Metric Left Hand Taps

Metric Left Hand Plug taps. High Speed Steel. Ground Thread.

Our metric fractional high speed steel left hand taps are Plug style only.
These are the most common style of left hand metric taps, with 3-4 lead threads ground.
To determine the proper drill size for a metric hole-to-be-tapped, just subtract the pitch of the tap from the diameter of the tap to yield the drill diameter. As an example: a hole-to-be-tapped as 4mm x .7 needs to be drilled with a 3.3mm drill bit.

For all metals except magnesium.
Environmentally safe, water-based fluid.
Used for tapping, milling, drilling, etc.
Quickly penetrates to the cutting edge and reduces friction and heat generated during cutting.
Safer than chlorinated solvents or oils.
Intended to be used full strength (primarily through misting or direct application), and not in recirculators. The viscosity of these fluids makes pumping difficult.
